Our school

Jondaryan State School is a small school located just ten minutes from Oakey. The school has composite classes, supporting students from prep to year six. The School offers a close family atmosphere with small class sizes and a wide variety of resources. Jondaryan State School is an excellent alternative to a large school. The school provides all students with individual attention. Multi-age classrooms allow students to progress at their individual pace. Students can be extended to suit their abilities in different learning areas providing an environment that facilitates the individual child's learning needs.

Jondaryan State school is well resourced with students having access to the latest technologies and educational opportunities. Students from Jondaryan State School participate in a range of education and extracurricular activities. Students participate in sporting events at other schools, as well as excursions, Under Eights Day, Swimming lessons and many more. Jondaryan State School offers all the opportunities of a large school but with individual attention and a family atmosphere only available at a small school. 

School colours

The school colours maroon and gold started in the 1940’s. The colours were used in conjunction with interschool team sports that were introduced around that time.

School badge

The School Badge was designed by Wendy Richards in 1963. The Book Stood for Knowledge and education. The Laurel wreath represented sport and physical achievement and the sheath of wheat as Jondaryan was in a wheat growing region

Jondaryan Cricket Carnival

The Jondaryan Cricket Carnival was started in 1977. In 1978 it was named the Sandy Hoopert Memorial Cricket Carnival in honour of Mr Sandy Hoopert who was accidentally killed in a local cricket game. The tradition continues today each Oct-Nov taking advantage of coaching clinics that occur at this time of year. The Tradition still continues.
